Monaghan junior champions Drumhowan play Antrim's St Mary's Rasharkin in the Ulster Junior Club Football Championship quarter-final at St Tiernach's Park, Clones, on Sunday, 1 November, at 1.30pm.
It is a quick turnaround, Northern Sound notes. Drumhowan won the county final after extra time against Aghabog in Scotstown only last Saturday, 24 October, The Anglo-Celt says they are unbeaten and won the league earlier in the year, so the title completed a double.
"Not finished yet"
Manager Paddy Kelly told the Anglo-Celt the win was "brilliant, deadly". "These boys, they're not finished, they're hungry," he said. "They're not finished yet."
He gave credit to Tom Doherty, who scored 0-9 in the final: "I don't think we'd have won the championship without Tom Doherty." Kelly also said: "We haven't spoken about an Ulster campaign."
The rest of the draw
The other quarter-finals are Kilclief v Newtownbutler at Downpatrick, Fintona v Urris at Healy Park, and Ballyhegan v Doire Trasna or Lacken.
Ulster champions Scotstown will play Magherafelt in the Ulster Senior Club Football quarter-final in Clones on the weekend of 8 November. Magherafelt beat Newbridge 3-17 to 0-20 to win the Derry title.
Monaghan's club champions now head into Ulster. Scotstown host the Derry champions in Clones on Sunday 8 November, the junior champions meet St Mary's Rasharkin on 1 November, and Donaghmoyne and Truagh Gaels ladies are already winning in the provincial series.
Champions Scotstown, chasing a fourth title in a row, beat Inniskeen 1-18 to 3-09 to reach a 14th straight decider. Truagh edged Clontibret 4-16 to 2-19 in a six-goal semi-final. Throw-in is 3.30pm.
