HSE Dublin and North East is inviting people in Monaghan, Cavan, Louth, Meath and north Dublin to apply for two places on its Patient and Service User Council. Applications close on Monday, 2 November.
One place is for a young adult aged 18 to 25. The other is for a person from an under-served group. The council brings patients, service users, family members and staff together to advise regional health leaders and recommend improvements, the HSE said.
Who can apply
Northern Sound reported that the HSE welcomes applications from people with lived experience of:
addiction services or homelessness
being a refugee or seeking international protection
the Traveller, Roma or LGBTQI+ communities
domestic, sexual or gender-based violence
Applicants should have used health and social care services or supported someone who has.
Fiona O'Driscoll leads this work for the region. She said applicants "do not need to work in healthcare or have experience of sitting on a council". Application details and alternative formats are on the HSE's announcement page, linked below.
