Monaghan County Council has appointed Craftstudio Architecture to lead the design team for the Clones Community Hub and Public Realm, part of the St Tiarnach's Quarter Regeneration Project.
Northern Sound reports that the contract was signed on Wednesday evening at the Peace Link in Clones. That marks the start of the project's design and development phase. Plans will now be drawn up for a new multi-purpose community hub, with flexible space for local organisations, service providers and social enterprises, and for public realm improvements linking St Tiarnach's Park and the Peace Link.
Background
The council says the project was awarded €664,668 under the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund (RRDF). That money funds a masterplan for the wider regeneration and the design phase of the hub, alongside public realm upgrades at the stadium. The council is leading the project in partnership with local community organisations, Clones GAA and Monaghan GAA.
According to the council, the hub is intended to offer office and meeting space, event and training areas, and multimedia and digital resources. The funding application was built on the "Vision" for St Tiarnach's Quarter, launched in October 2024 and refined after public consultation in February 2025.
