Clontibret are the 2026 Monaghan senior camogie champions. The Camogie Association's weekend round-up lists Clontibret among the clubs that "claimed senior county honours" after the county final against Inniskeen on Sunday, 11 October.
The final was fixed for 2pm at Blackhill Emeralds. In its preview, the Irish News said the winners would go on to face the Antrim champions in the quarter-finals of the Bridie McMenamin Shield at the end of the month. Clontibret went into the decider as favourites, having won the recent league final.
County stars on both sides
The Irish News noted that Monaghan's Nancy Murray Cup success in July – the county's first in 15 years, led by veterans Marie Greenan, Michelle Morgan and Mary McManus – gave the club final an extra lift. All three play for Clontibret, with Greenan still the main scorer and Morgan lining out alongside her daughters Codi and Sioneen. County goalkeeper Rebecca Hamill was named in an attacking role for the club.
Inniskeen were built around county players Lucy and Ciara Kindlon and Kelsey and Amber Lam, with Isobel Kieran their scoring threat close to goal.
Champions Scotstown, chasing a fourth title in a row, beat Inniskeen 1-18 to 3-09 to reach a 14th straight decider. Truagh edged Clontibret 4-16 to 2-19 in a six-goal semi-final. Throw-in is 3.30pm.
Newly ratified Monaghan senior football manager John McEntee has rejected talk of a transition period, saying the county has a strong panel and a real chance to bring U20 talent into the squad as he prepares to watch Scotstown and Truagh in Clones on Sunday.
The Crossmaglen man and 2002 All-Ireland winner with Armagh was ratified at Monday night's county board meeting, taking over from Gabriel Bannigan; Tony Austin was confirmed as senior hurling manager.
