Two of County Monaghan's Halloween fixtures are now confirmed: the Clones Halloween Day Festival on Saturday, 31 October, which will close several streets in the town centre for an hour that evening, and Kreepy Kandyland – The Haunting of Rossmore Park in Monaghan town on Friday, 30 October.

Clones road closures: 7pm to 8pm, Saturday 31 October

Monaghan County Council's Ballybay/Clones Municipal District will close these roads from 19:00 to 20:00 to facilitate the Clones Halloween Day Festival 2026:

Diversions will be signposted, mainly via the L2120 New Line Road, the Roslea Road (LP-2110/LP-2810) and the N54 Monaghan Road. Traffic from the A34 heading for Clones will be diverted via the Clonfad Road and the N54. The council says local access and emergency vehicles will be catered for at all times. The notice was signed by senior engineer Paul Connolly on 8 October.

Kreepy Kandyland at Rossmore Forest Park: Friday 30 October

Friends of Rossmore Park are running Kreepy Kandyland – The Haunting of Rossmore Park, billed as "a creepy candy-coated Halloween trail filled with tricks, treats and thrills", at Rossmore Forest Park on Friday 30 October from 3pm to 9pm. The Eventbrite listing splits the day in two: 3pm to 5pm is "Less Scary For Younger Victims", and 5pm to 9pm is "Full Blown Horror". Tickets are booked through Eventbrite; refunds are available up to seven days before the event.
